Chippewa County School Threat Assessment Coalition (STAC)
The Chippewa County School Threat Assessment Coalition (STAC) is a collaborative effort dedicated to protecting the youth of our community by identifying and addressing potential threats before they escalate. Formed through a partnership among local schools, law enforcement, social services, and the District Attorney's Office, STAC operates with a unified vision: safety is shared, prevention is proactive, and every student is empowered to succeed.
Utilizing the Wisconsin School Threat Assessment and Management Protocol (WSTAMP) - a research-based, evidence-informed approach - STAC supports the early identification of concerning behaviors and provides timely, appropriate interventions for students in need. By establishing a shared understanding between schools and law enforcement, this proactive strategy reduces exclusion and promotes continuity of care and education for youth.
Established in 2025, Chippewa County STAC is committed to expanding its reach beyond school walls. Looking ahead, the coalition aims to engage and educate the broader community about threat assessment practices, reinforcing a collective commitment to keeping children safe, informed, and empowered.
