The Chippewa County Recovery Court Program is a 15 to 24-month specialized court process divided into five phases, specifically designed to assist individuals with substance use disorders who face certain charges. Instead of guiding participants through the traditional criminal justice system, Recovery Court emphasizes treatment, accountability, and recovery - aiming to lower repeat offenses and promote long-term sobriety.
- Helps the participant break the cycle of dependence by offering case management, treatment, random drug and alcohol testing, and setting goals based on the individual's risk level, needs, and future aspirations.
- Reduce drug and alcohol related crimes, as well as other unrelated crimes, to increase community safety.
- Increase employment stability and encourage participants to obtain an HSED/GED, if applicable.
- Ensures the participant contributes to all court-related costs.
Recovery Court is open to the public and meets weekly on Thursday mornings at 8:30 am in Branch II of the Chippewa County Courthouse.
