Health & Human Services Board

The Health and Human Services Board provides policy oversight to the Human Services and Public Health departments. The nine member Board is comprised of five County Board Supervisors and four citizen members who are not Supervisors or employees of the County and have a demonstrated interest or competence in Human Services, Public Health or community health. The Board meets monthly. Members are appointed for a three-year term.

The Board of Health and the Human Services Board were consolidated in 2012. The respective duties and responsibilities of the previous boards are as follows:

  2. Human Services Board: The Human Services Board recommends program priorities and policies for the Department of Human Services (DHS), assures enforcement of human services statutes and rules by qualified staff, identifies unmet human services needs, helps develop and recommend the DHS annual budget and supports the DHS mission to protect the health, safety, and welfare of at risk Chippewa County residents with dignity and respect.
