Wisconsin Department of Transportation, and Chippewa County are proposing a structure improvement project on County Highway Y over Chippewa River 15 in Jim Falls to address structure deficiencies. The project will include the rehabilitation of the existing structure including full deck replacement and widening at the intersection with WIS 178 , expansion joint work, abutment widening at the west abutment, pier scour repair, and new railing. Additional proposed work includes reconstruction of roadway approaches, new asphaltic pavement, and new guardrail. The design project is currently scheduled to be completed by August 1, 2026, for construction in 2027.
All persons interested in the County Highway Y project are encouraged to attend the Public Involvement Meeting.
