The purpose of the Chippewa County Stewardship Program is to assist municipalities, local units of government, and non-profit organizations to meet land conservation and resource management objectives in the County.
The Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program (CREP) is an opportunity for landowners to voluntarily enroll agricultural lands into conservation practices, such as riparian buffers, filter strips, wetland restorations, waterways and establishment of native grasslands.
The Wisconsin Farmland Preservation Program (FLP) provides state income tax credits to farmers who meet program requirements. Program requirements include meeting soil and water conservation standards, and using the land for agriculture only.
